The Kids Summer Camps Yoga and Art Journaling program is designed to nurture your child's imagination and encourage their unique expression through the combination of yoga, literature, and art. By participating in this camp, your child will not only have a fun and engaging experience but also develop valuable life skills.
Each camp session revolves around a specific theme and uses a unique creative process. Throughout the camp, kids will learn and refine new art techniques, learn to follow their inspiration, commit to a project, learn how to overcome mistakes, and practice both fine and gross motor skills. The integration of art and yoga also serves as a mindfulness tool, allowing children to express themselves.
Over the course of the five-day camp/workshop series, children will explore multiple techniques and mixed media to create Art Journal Entries. The daily routine includes a yoga practice, reading a story, poem, or quote to inspire their creations, exploring creativity through prompts, engaging in imaginative play, and focusing on their breath.
The process of art journaling serves multiple purposes:
-It allows for the refinement and testing of art techniques
-provides a means to process current geographic and political events
-facilitates connected and creative time to process emotion and assimilate experiences
-encourages exploration and connection with one's children by transforming mistakes into art.
This Summer Yoga and Art Journaling program is suitable for children aged 6 to 12. It offers a well-rounded experience that combines physical activity, creative expression, and personal growth.
This is a safe space for children to explore thought, emotion, physical movement and creativity through tactile experiences. I hold a supportive space for them to practice these techniques and offer up suggestions with the intention of empowering  them or enhancing their experience.
